Ko Ngāi Tahu te iwi, ko Kāti Huirapa te hapū
Liam is a Solicitor in Chapman Tripp’s Auckland Corporate team. He is part of Chapman Tripp’s Te Wak Ture team, which speacialises in providing commercial legal advice to iwi, hapū, Māori landowners, Māori businesses, and those looking to work with them.
Liam graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2015 with an LLB and a BA in te reo Māori and New Zealand history. During his time at university, he held the role of Tumuaki Tuaru o Te Putairiki (Māori Law Students Association) and completed in Te Hunga Rōia o Aotearoa’s Student moot three times. In 2016, he travelled to Shanghai, China for a year on Te Runanga o Ngāi Tahu’s Agria-Hoaka Scholarship to learn Mandarin at Fudan University.
Liam has previously worked for Te Runanga o Ngāi Tahu in various roles part-time. He began at Chapman Tripp in 2017 in their Graduate programme, being admitted in August that year.
